Hands-On Learning

North Texas Christian invites help from the community to educate students on self awareness. Making serious matters fun, local fire departments educate students on effective fire safety, in addition to our very own Hood County Sheriff’s Department, educating students on quick decision making in a crisis.

North Texas Christian knows how much children love to be outdoors. Our flower, vegetable and fruit gardens provide the perfect opportunity for your child to have fun while learning where some of our everyday foods come from. To aid in hands-on discovery, your child will make delicious goodies from the foods they grow, such as vegetable soup, salsa and much more.

Families and friends are welcome to celebrate the holidays with us at North Texas Christian by admiring the hard work of students in our Easter and Christmas Programs. Parents can celebrate success with their child in May at our Graduation Ceremony. Exiting Kindergarten students will receive a cap and gown, in addition to their well earned “Diploma of Completion,” as they walk into a new year equipped with the knowledge and skills to conquer first grade.

Character Aids

Children learn best by seeing and doing therefore we allow character aids to reinforce learning periodically. From A Beka’s “Amber Lamb” to “Button Bear,” North Texas Christian brings unforgettable characters that children know and love to provide them with an experience to remember for a lifetime.  Musical instruments and Spanish are incorporated into daily lessons.

Special Events

North Texas Christian has partnered with local kid-friendly businesses and individuals to provide a one-of-a-kind experience that fosters educational exploration. Special events enable fun-packed, hands-on experiences matching the variety of learning styles in the classroom to reinforce student success. A few anticipated adventures may include:

  • “Wildlife on the Move” will “bring science to life” for students. Children are able to experience the thrill of exotic animals up close and learn valuable information about the natural world around them.

  • Dentists educate students on positive oral hygiene through colorful presentations and engaging activities.

  • Fire Department provides students with a hands-on experience by touring a fire truck, in addition to effective fire safety.
